General – what you share, what we collect

We do collect this general information, primarily, to improve our website. We keep track of which pages people visit, how they move throughout our site and the general geographic locations of each visitor. We review this data in aggregate to identify popular content and identify potential problem spots on this website to help improve the website for visitors as well as for our purposes. We may, if needed, use the information to help identify and track fraud or abuse.

By simply visiting this website, we have no way of obtaining personally-identifiable information (“PII”). Information such as your name, physical address nor email address are available to us unless you specifically send us such information.

If we do receive PII from you, we only use it to the extent necessary to respond to your inquires, for example. You are free to, within the confines of our agreement, to use fictitious names or temporary email addresses or email forwarders to communicate with us.

At this time we do not have a subscription mailing list. Once this is added, we will update this privacy policy.

We do not share any information about any visitor or visit with any third party except in the following circumstances:

  • When fraud or abuse are suspected or threats of physical or digital harm are made

Website analytics

We employ a fully in-house Analytics program to monitor activity on this website. All information about visits and visitors remain on our server, under our control. Furthermore, not only is this website protected and secure by using the https SSL protocol, our analytics application is as well. All information transmissions are secured on this website. Because we do not utilize a third-party analytics program like Google Analytics, your information is not sent to third-party companies.

This website uses cookies, which are small text files that reside in your website browser, to store website preferences, and to an extent, aid with our analytics program. You are free to delete the cookies if you wish, they should not hamper your use of this website to any great extent. We do not presently offer memberships here, so we do not have any reason or mechanism in place to capture and store visitor information aside from when comments are submitted on articles posted here.

3rd-party resources and advertisements

This site employs third-party resources, such as using font-files hosted on third-party websites or embedding a Youtube video inside a post. When you load a web page that pulls content from third-party sites, your computer will be making a request to these services through this website. In these cases, you would be subject to the privacy policies of these companies. While we do employ caching that will alleviate some of these third-party requests for some visitors, it’s still likely that this will happen on a regular basis.

We do not presently use third-party advertisement network. We do not share your information with third-party sites in any capacity nor are you tracked via advertisement networks once on our site.
